Keysight U2741A Programmer’s Reference Guide

TRIGger:SOURce

Syntax

TRIGger:SOURce <source>

This command selects the trigger source for measurements. The U2741A will

accept a software (bus) command, immediate (continuous) trigger, or a star

trigger.

TRIGger:SOURce?

This command queries the trigger source setting.

Parameter

Remarks

– After selecting the trigger source, you must place the U2741A in the

“wait-for-trigger” state using the

INIT

command. A trigger will not be

accepted from the selected trigger source until the U2741A is in the

“wait-for-trigger” state. The

INIT

command only initiates the measurement

and needs a trigger (

BUS

IMMediate

) to make the actual measurement.

– For the

IMMediate

(continuous) source, the trigger signal is always present.

When you place the U2741A in the “wait-for-trigger” state, the trigger is

issued immediately.

– For the

BUS

(software) source, the U2741A is triggered by the

*TRG

command

received over the remote interface. The

*TRG

command will not be accepted

unless the multimeter is in the “wait-for-trigger” state.

– A

CONF

MEAS?

command overwrites the

BUS

trigger and sets the trigger

source to

IMMediate

– The U2741A selects the immediate trigger source after a factory reset (

*RST

command).

– The bus trigger mode is initiated by sending a bus trigger command (

*TRG

after selecting

BUS

as the trigger source.

– The star trigger is only applicable when the U2741A is used in the U2781A

chassis. It is use for triggering multiple units in the chassis.
