Adjustment Procedures

Adjustments

AC Voltage Gain

NOTE: The zero adjustment procedure MUST have been recently performed prior
to beginning any gain adjustment procedure. Zero adjustment should be
performed one time followed by the other gain adjustments.

This procedure sets the AC voltage gain calibration constants for each ACV
range. The adjustments should be performed in the order given in the following
table "AC Voltage Function Adjustment Points".

Connect the AC Standard output across the HI and LO terminals of the
Keysight E1412A as shown in Figure 5-3.

Set up the Keysight E1412A as follows:

–

Reset the multimeter ........................................... *RST

–

Set the function ............................... FUNC:VOLT:AC

–

Set the SLOW AC filter ...................... DET:BAND 3

Set the AC Standard output to 100 mV at 1 kHz for the first adjustment point.

Prepare the Keysight E1412A for calibration:

–

Set the range ...................................... VOLT:RANG 100E-3

–

Enable cal ............... CAL:SEC:STAT OFF,<security code>

–

Send input value .........................CAL:VAL <input voltage> (see the
following AC Voltage Function Adjustment Points table for <input voltage>
values)

Check to see if the last command has been completed using the *OPC?
command. Read the result; a 1 indicates that the operation has been
completed.

Perform the adjustment by sending the CAL? command and reading the
result.

–

A zero indicates that the adjustment was accepted.

–

A non-zero result indicates that an error has occurred. Send the
SYST:ERR? command and read the result. See Chapter 5 of the

Keysight

E1412A User’s Manual and SCPI Programmer’s Guide

for details.

AC VOLTAGE GAIN ADJUSTMENT REQUIREMENT

AC voltage gain

calibration constants are dependent on a prior calibration of the

DC voltage function. You must have adjusted the DC voltage

function prior to adjusting the AC voltage function. Failure to do

so can cause significant calibration errors in the AC voltage

function.
