TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Cause
Action
The machine will not
start.
Incorrect power supply, or power
cord is not plugged in.
Plug the power cord into a mains
supply of 230 V ~ 50 Hz.
The bread or dough does
not rise.
Too little sugar.
Measure up the sugar carefully.
Do not reduce the amount of
sugar in the recipe. Do not use
artificial sweeteners.
Poor yeast.
Make sure that the yeast is not too
old. The yeast must be placed in a
small hollow in the flour.
Too much salt.
Use the amount of salt given in the
recipe. Measure up carefully.
The bread does not bake.
The DOUGH program has been
selected.
Select the correct program for the
chosen recipe.
The bread sags.
Too little, or no salt.
Measure up the salt carefully. Use
level measures.
Too much water.
The bread will sag if there is too
much water in the dough. Reduce
the amount of water by 1 to 4 tbsp.
Allow the machine to start
kneading and add as necessary 1
tbsp of water up to 4 tbsp.
If the water is too warm this will
accelerate the rising, which can
cause the dough to rise to fast and
the bread to sag during the baking.
Reduce the amount of yeast by
1/4 tsp.
The bread is too small, or
not properly shaped.
Too much flour.
Measure up the flour carefully.
Make sure not to pack the flour in
the measure. Use level measures.
The bread rises too much
towards the lid.
Too much yeast, or wrong sort of
yeast.
Measure up the yeast carefully.
Use dry yeast in all recipes.
The bread is not
thoroughly baked.
The lid was opened during the
baking.
Do not open the lid during the
rising and baking.
The ingredients have been
incorrectly measured.
Measure up carefully. Always use
level measures.
The room is too cold.
Do not use the machine where it is
too cold.
NOTE!
The oven warms up in the beginning of the program. The dough paddle does not move, which is
quite normal.
