6.1 Lubrication

Remove adjustment assembly from oiler.

Oil lubricated pumps are supplied with an oiler with maintains a constant oil level in the bearing
frame. See Figure 30 for oiler location.

Before installing the oiler on the bearing frame, set the oiler adjustment:

Install oiler.

Fill oiler bottle with oil and replace in the oiler housing. Oil reservoir in frame is filled when
oil remains visible in the bottle. Several fillings of the bottle will be required. Never fill
through oil vent or the oiler housing without use of the bottle.

Grease lubrication – (Refer to
for grease specifications). Grease
lubricated ball bearings are standard on the Model 3107. These units can be identified by the
grease fittings located on the bearing housing.
Grease lubricated bearings are lubricated at the factory. Do not grease at too frequent intervals.
To grease bearings insert grease through the Alemite fittings into bearing housing while rotating
shaft until grease appears through grease relief fitting. Do not add additional lubricant after
grease appears through relief fitting.
