Removing Connecting Rod, Eccentric and Bearing Assembly

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 7.10.

FIGURE 7.10

Connecting Rod, Eccentric and Bearing Assembly

1. Remove and discard the cylinders.

2. Rotate the shaft to align the eccentric set screws with the access holes located in the

back of the compressor housing.

3. Insert the T-25 Torx wrench into the access hole (not shown) located in the back of the

compressor housing.

4. Loosen the set screw 1/4 turn.

5. Rotate the connecting rod to top dead center (180°) and slide the connecting rod,

eccentric, and bearing assembly off the shaft through the opening in the compressor
housing.

6. Secure the connecting rod, eccentric, and bearing assembly in a fixture.

7. Remove the torque screw from the piston cup retainer (keep for assembly).

8. Remove and discard the piston cup seal.

9. Clean debris from the top of the connecting rod with a clean, soft cloth.
