Chapter 5 Printing
Standard
This function performs colour conversion to make a balanced
use of printer characteristics. It is particularly suited for
reproduction of flesh colours.
In the standard mode, the print speed is lower than with
“Colour correction = None”, but acceptable reproduction is
possible regardless of types of print images.
None
No colour correction. This function is suited for printing basic
colours, such as CMYK and RGB in solid patters (pure
colours).
• Colour balance
Four slide controls allows the density of each colour of CMYK
to be adjusted independently in a range from -50 to +50 where
low values indicate light colours and high values indicate dark
colours.
• Gamma coefficient
This option is only available if the Colour correction method has
been set to “Standard” or “None”. When printed colour differs
from the colour of the image displayed on the monitor, gamma
correction is carried out in order to make printed colour agree
better with displayed colour. The gamma coefficient can be
selected from among the values 1.0, 1.4, 1.8, and 2.2; the higher
the gamma coefficient, the darker the printed colour.
• Density
This function adjusts the print density. As colour balance is
maintained, density affects the overall darkness of the printed
image. The adjustable range is from -50 (lightest) to +50
(darkest).
