Chapter 6      Routine Maintenance

Allowing the interior of the printer to become dirty will affect print
quality adversely. Clean the printer periodically to maintain good
print quality.

Caution:
Make sure the printer is off before cleaning the printer.

. Press the power switch to turn power off.

. Open the front cover, then open the PHS unit using the green

lifting handle.

. Clean printer interior using a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe

dust and dirt adhering to the platen and belt areas.

Caution:
Do not touch the area around the
printhead. Keep fingers away from
the drive unit or sensors to avoid
risk of injury.
