a PC
When connecting the printer to PC-type personal computers, be
sure to connect as described below.
Caution:
When connecting the printer to a personal computer, be aware that
there may be restrictions with respect to computer model, equip-
ment versions and operating environments that affect the connec-
tion procedure.
For more information about the printer driver for Microsoft Win-
dows, see chapter 4.16.
1
. Make sure that both the printer and the computer are turned off.
2
. Connect the printer to the parallel port of the PC using a suitable
parallel communication cable which ends in a 36-pin male
Centronics connector on the printer side.
3
. Turn on the printer and computer.
Note:
The ColorCoder V4 uses a parallel interface compatible with
the unidirectional Centronics standard. In the Windows 95
environment, place the parallel port into the unidirectional
Centronics mode when setting the parallel interface. Selecting
the bidrectional Centronics mode can cause troubles. Setting
varies with PC-models, see the documentation supplied with
your host PC.
