Removing the RAID Battery Backup Unit

To remove the RAID battery backup unit, follow these steps:

1. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see

2. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see 

“Removing the Processor Air 

Duct” on page 56

.

3. Remove the large air baffle. For instructions, see

4. Remove the cable from the rear of the RAID battery backup unit and the midplane 

board (see letter “A” in 

Figure 108

).

5. Slide the RAID battery backup unit away from the power supply and lift from the 

server system (see letter “B” in 

Figure 108

).
