ACPI
ACPI gives t he operat ing syst em direct cont r ol ov er t he pow er m anagem ent and Plug
and Play funct ions of a com put er. The use of ACPI w it h t he Deskt op Board r equires an
operat ing syst em t hat provides full ACPI suppor t .
Hardware Support
Fan Header
The Deskt op Board has a 3- pin syst em fan header . See Figure 12 on page 37 for t he
locat ion of t he syst em fan header.
+5 V Standby Power Indicator
CAUTION
I f t he AC pow er has been swit ched off and t he st andby power indicat or is st ill lit ,
disconnect t he pow er cord before inst alling or r em oving any devices connect ed t o t he
board. Failur e t o do so could dam age t he board and any at t ached devices.
The Deskt op Board’s st andby pow er indicat or, show n in Figure 4, is lit w hen t her e is
st andby pow er t o t he sy st em . This includes t he SO- DI MM socket s and t he PCI bus
connect or, ev en t hough t he com put er appears t o be off.
