USB 2.0 Support
The Deskt op Board support s up t o seven USB 2.0 port s ( four port s rout ed t o t he back
panel and t hree port s r out ed t o t w o fr ont panel USB 2.0 headers) . One of t he front
panel USB headers support s an I nt el Z- U130 USB Solid- St at e Drive or com pat ible
device. The USB 2.0 port s are com pat ible w it h USB 1.1 devices. USB 1.1 devices w ill
funct ion norm ally at USB 1.1 speeds.
USB 2.0 support requires bot h an operat ing syst em and drivers t hat fully support
USB 2.0 t ransfer rat es. Disabling High- Speed USB in t he BI OS r ev ert s all USB 2.0
port s t o USB 1.1 operat ion. This m ay be r equired t o accom m odat e operat ing syst em s
t hat do not support USB 2.0.
NOTE
Com put er syst em s t hat have an unshielded cable at t ached t o a USB por t m ight not
m eet FCC Class B r equir em ent s, ev en if no device or a low - speed USB device is
at t ached t o t he cable. Use a shielded cable t hat m eet s t he r equir em ent s for a
full- speed USB device.
SATA Interface
The Deskt op Board support s t w o SATA channels ( 3.0 Gb/ s) t hat support one device
per channel. The SATA cont r oller support s I DE and ACHI configurat ion and can
operat e in bot h legacy and nat ive m odes.
Expandability
The Deskt op Board pr ov ides t he follow ing expansion capabilit y:

One PCI bus connect or. The connect or can support eit her a single PCI add- in card
or a single- or dual- slot PCI riser card.
•
One PCI Express Full- Mini Card slot ( com pat ible w it h Full- and Half- Mini cards) .
BIOS
The BI OS provides t he Pow er- On Self- Test ( POST) , t he BI OS Set up pr ogram , t he PCI
and SATA aut o- configurat ion ut ilit ies, and t he video BI OS.
PCI/PCI Express Auto Configuration
I f y ou inst all a PCI / PCI Express add- in card in your com put er, t he PCI / PCI Expr ess
aut o- configurat ion ut ilit y in t he BI OS aut om at ically det ect s and configures t he
resources ( I RQs, DMA channels, and I / O space) for t hat add- in card. You do not need
t o run t he BI OS Set up program aft er y ou inst all a PCI / PCI Expr ess add- in card.
