ENCODER COMMANDS AND PROMPTS
The following table lists programming commands and special
commands to control the Model 730 Encoder, and certain res-
ponses that are received from the encoder. These are listed in
the order received following a

(general interrogation) in-
quiry, which itself is explained under Special Commands.
Every command sent to the encoder must be followed by the
equivalent of a keyboard ‘Enter,’ shown here as the symbol:

This is technically either an ASCII CR (carriage return) or CRFL
(carriage line feed).

the “wait time” in minutes between receipt
of the last incoming DPS message and the
transmission of the DPS Default message.
PARSE=
Dynamic PS Method
0 = Auto-Parse; 1 = Single character
‘Safe Scrolling’; 2-7 = Multiple character
side-stepped scrolling;
8 = Unparsed block of 8 characters
9 = Auto2 word break option.
DPSS=
Dynamic PS Speed
0 - 9 = Speed of Scrolling-PS display,
slowest to fastest; 6 recommended.
TEXT=
Radio Text
64 (max) character message to be displayed
by the receiver if so equipped;

0 = RadioText OFF; 1 - 9 = Refresh rate for
RadioText message transmission;
3 recommended for text messaging,
higher values for RT+ applications.
