Optional Cooling Function
As the device is self-heating, an individual unit can be operated at a
temperature of approx. 6 °C above the ambient temperature without
a cooling system. For processes that require temperatures signifi-
cantly lower than this temperature, the device can be fitted with an
optional cooling system. The following cooling systems are available:
Individual units: Cooling system in base
Two units stacked: Side-mounted cooling system
Three units stacked: Top cooling system
Depending on which version is chosen, the cooling unit may be in-
stalled at a different location. However, the heat exchanger is always
installed behind the rear wall in the incubation chamber on all cool-
ing systems.
Cooling system in base
On individual units, the cooling unit is installed in the 31 mm base.
The cooling unit is a 2-circuit system with a cooling liquid tank, which
must be filled with cooling liquid by INFORS HT prior to commission-
ing.
Side-mounted cooling system
On the “side-mounted cooling system” version, the cooling unit is in-
stalled in a side-mounted casing. Each cooling unit cools one device
in a stack. The side-mounted cooling unit is supplied with power di-
rectly via the device itself. As such, no additional mains connection is
required for the cooling system. The cooling liquid circulates in a
closed circuit.
Top cooling system
On the “top cooling system” version, the cooling unit is installed in a
bracket mounted on the incubation shaker. The top cooling system
cools all the devices in the stack. The top cooling system has its own
power supply and mains switch. These are located on the left-hand
side of the bracket. The cooling unit is a 2-circuit system with a cool-
ing liquid tank, which must be filled with cooling liquid by INFORS HT
prior to commissioning.
