►
For more information about ACF and ACF+, refer to the IndigoVision application note
"Understanding ACF+" available from the IndigoVision website.
Optimization
— Where available, optimization enables you to select how video is streamed
based on requirements.
When optimizing for storage, a static scene minimizes the bit rate to reduce the storage and
bandwidth requirements. When optimizing for quality, the encoder produces a higher bit rate
to maintain image quality.
Frame Rate Divisor
— Determines the frame rate when using CBR rate control, and when
ACF is in normal mode. For example, a value of 3 means “transmit 1 frame for every 3 frames
captured”. This would give a frame rate of 10fps for NTSC (30 fps input), or approximately
8fps for PAL (25 fps input).
ACF Passive Frame Rate Divisor
— Determines the frame rate when using ACF rate
control and no motion is present in the defined region of interest. For example, a value of 10
means “transmit 1 frame for every 10 frames captured”. This example would give a frame rate
of 3 fps for NTSC, or approximately 2fps for PAL when in ACF Passive mode.
I-Frame Interval
— This determines how often a full frame of video is transmitted, the default
being every 4000ms. A lower I-frame interval provides smoother rewind on recordings made
by an NVR but requires more bandwidth and storage. The default I-frame interval of 4000ms
is a good compromise as it allows navigation of recordings and provides high quality live
video.
Embed Analytics Data
— (Stream 1 only) Where available, motion information is embedded
into the video bitstream so that its motion can be highlighted by Control Center.
Advanced Encoder Parameters
— For advanced use only. These fields are only visible by
first enabling them from the Advanced Network Configuration menu. Modification of these
quantization parameters are required under very special circumstances, for example, viewing
video streams over low bandwidth links. Any modification of these parameters should be
made under advice from IndigoVision partner support.
Analytics
Before configuring the analytics features of the encoder please read the IndigoVision
application note "Understanding Analytics" which outlines the considerations needed in
deploying analytics in the field. This is available from the IndigoVision website.
This menu makes use of a Java applet. If your PC does not already support Java, you must
install the Sun JRE version 1.6 or later in order to be able to view the menu.
Filters
Analytics filters are available to detect different types of behavior. An Activity filter is always
active. Without a valid analytics license, the Motion and Hooded Camera filters are available.
To enable the other filters, you must enter a valid analytics license key on the Firmware
Upgrade menu. Only two filters can be active at a time including the Activity filter.
