Time Zone
— Select the appropriate time zone.
Video
The parameters available in the Video menu change depending on the model.
Brightness and Saturation
— These are standard color-space controls. Adjust as required
for your video.
Sharpness
— Allows you to increase the contrast of edges in the image making edges more
distinct. Increasing the sharpness may increase bandwidth requirements and noise.
Mirror
— Flips the image horizontally and vertically to change the orientation of the image.
Wide Dynamic Range
(WDR) — (Advanced option) Filters intense back light surrounding a
subject to enhance the features and shapes of the subject. Select
Day
and
Night
options to
enable independently for day and night modes.
Gamma
— (Advanced option) Choose the gamma curve value that matches the gamma of
the monitor or screen displaying the video. If the gamma value is too high, the image may
appear washed out.
Resolution
— (Advanced option) Sets the resolution of the image. This control is not
available for all models.
Back Light Compensation
— (Advanced option) Increases the brightness of an image that
has a dark center and bright periphery.
White Balance
— Specifies the method by which the camera determines color levels.
IndigoVision recommends this should be left at automatic unless one of the fixed values
provides a more accurate representation of the hues within a particular scene.
Output Standard
— Allows you to select the output standard of the camera.
The gamma value is equal to 1/monitor gamma, therefore, normally 0.45.
Scan Mode
— (Advanced option) Allows you to select the camera capture method.
Exposure Mode
— Sets the exposure control.
•
Electronic Shutter
: for fixed iris lenses, shutter speed is set automatically depending
on the light level of the scene.
•
Auto-Iris
: for auto-iris lenses, shutter speed is set manually.
•
Manual
: allows you to specify parameters. This option should not be selected for
cameras in variable lighting conditions.
Preferences
— Allows you to select a preference.
•
Highlight
: emphasizes details in light areas at the expense of shadows.
•
Shadows
: emphasizes detail in dark areas at the expense of light areas.
Iris Threshold
— (Advanced option) Sets the target value for the system gain. When the
gain is above this value, the iris is opened further to reduce gain. When the gain is below this
value the iris is closed to increase gain.
If you set the value too low, the iris is always fully opened thereby reducing the depth of field.
If you set the value too high, the iris does not open fully thereby reducing the low light
performance.
Iris Speed
— (Advanced option) Sets the speed of the exposure control when
Auto-Iris
exposure mode is selected. Increase this value for a faster update to the image exposure
when the ambient light level changes. Reduce this value for a slower update to the image
exposure when the ambient light level changes.
