It is important that the unit is installed in a dry cool location that is not affected by humidity. Do not
locate the unit in air conditioning or a boiler room that can exceed the temperature or humidity
specifications.
The isolated communications interface on the Protege uses full galvanic isolation to prevent ground
loop noise and cross phase ground differential. This is a very important feature of the product family
and the correct connection of power to this isolated section will ensure the correct operation of the
communications network. Failure to apply power to the communication interface will prevent the
operation of the communication interface.
