8. GROUND MANEUVERS AND SERVICE PROCESURES
8.1. TOWING / AIRCRAFT HANDLING
Before towing the aircraft, check MAGNETOS OFF and parking brake deactivated. Pull the aircraft
out of the propeller. Never lift or pull the aircraft from the spinner. To move the airplane backward is
possible to push from wing struts, on both side. Avoid to push forward from the wing struts because
the back strut cover can be damaged.
Rotate the aircraft by pulling forward from the propeller in side direction, by means of nose wheel
steerable. To rotate on place the aircraft, push down the back cone of fuselage by pressing the
fuselage and the horizontal stabilizer, detach the nose wheel from ground, rotate as required.
Prevent damage by paying attention to distribute the force on the fuselage and horizontal stabilizer
skins, apply pressure on the stringers riveted area.
8.2. AIRCRAFT GROUND MOORING
Set parking brake (if present), Flap to Zero position, Lock the control stick in backward direction by
means of seat belt and tie down the aircraft from the proper point (yellow marked) under the wing
and propeller flange.
CAUTION
DO NOT TIE DOWN THE AIRCRAFT ON OTHER
POINTS NOT DESIGNED FOR MOORING
PURPOSE.
TIE DOWN POINTS CAN BE USED WITH WIND UP
TO 90 KM/H (50 KT).
AIRCRAFT MOORING MUST BE CONSIDERED AS
A TEMPORARY SOLUTION.
IN THE CASE OF AN AIRCRAFT TIED DOWN
DURING EXTREMELY ADVERSE WEATHER
CONDITIONS, CHECK ACCURATELY THE
CONDITION OF THE STRUCTURE BEFORE
FLIGHT.
CONSISTENT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ON THE
WINGS CAN CAUSE DAMAGES TO THE
STRUCTURE.
THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE USED FOR
SHORT PERIODS ONLY, ALWAYS CHECK THE
BRAKES OPERATION AFTER REMOVING THE
PARKING BRAKE.
