7.6. SHORT TAKE-OFF / SOFT GROUND RUNWAY
- Communication, PERFORM if required;
- Runway and Final, CHECK free;
- Flap Full, SET;
- Neutral Trim, SET;
- Electric fuel pump, ON;
- Carburettor heat, OFF;
- Throttle, push FULL power gradually to the maximum;
- Take-off RPM, CHECK min 5200;
WARNING
DURING TAKE-OFF RUN, KEEP THE FEET TIPS
AWAY FROM THE BRAKE PEDALS TO AVOID
UNINTENTIONAL BRAKING.
- Fully pitch up in order to lift off the front wheel as soon as possible.
- Accelerate with nose up attitude until the main landing gear detaches from the ground (do
not overdo nose-high attitude, simply nose up to 15 cm);
- Once lift off has been made, reduce the attitude angle and then accelerate into the ground
effect;
- When best angle of climb speed is reached, start climb at this speed;
- Once the safety height has been reached, remove Flap, reduce throttle or climb.
7.7. APPROACH AND LANDING
On Downwind leg:
- Electric Fuel Pump Switch, ON;
- Landing Light Switch, ON;
- Carburettor Heat, ACTIVATE during probable icing conditions;
- Slow down to Approach Speed,
62 Mph / 100 km/h / 53 kt @ 600 Kg;
- Flap ½, SET;
- Communication, PERFORM if required;
- Wind-cone, CHECK;
- Runway, CHECK free.
On Final leg:
- Slow down to Final Speed,
55 Mph / 90 km/h / 49 kts @ 600 Kg;
