4.1 Maintenance Conducted by Users
CAUTION
：
When the Main Unit is open, hands and objects can be caught by the Main Unit if
the Main Unit closes unexpectedly, Make sure you hold the Main Unit with your
free hand while you work.
CAUTION
：
There are glass or plastic parts in the device. If you use the scanner with
damaged/deformed parts, further damage or injury could occur. If you see
damaged or deformed parts, you should contact the service personnel.
CAUTION
：
Do not use flammable sprays for cleaning. The flammable gasses may collect in
the device, and may ignite at the time of power-on.

Daily inspection and cleaning (conducted by user)
This device handles papers. As paper dust from sheets may affect images, perform inspection
and cleaning daily.

The Image scanner is a device that handles papers. Dust from papers and perforated papers
may cause various errors. Therefore it is important to clean portions of the paper feed
mechanism, paper detection mechanism, Image Sensor, Pick rollers, Separator rollers,
Reverse Rollers with gauze or wet cloth before operation every day or whenever an error
occurs. Use gauze that is commercially available.
Perforated sheets produce a lot of dust so more frequent cleaning is required.
