The material used in the rollers for the feeder / separator unit deteriorates after about one year, and
their friction coefficient gets lower. As a consequence, the performance of the feeder and separator
may be deteriorated. The number of sheets of paper shown as the replacement cycle for rollers is for
the case of A4 landscape OCR paper. Note that depending on the document size, paper quality, and
other factors the replacement cycle may be shortened.

6 months after the
ink cartridge is
unpacked Ink cartridge has an expiration date for installation. The expiration date is printed
on the package. If you use ink cartridge after the expiration date, print quality may
be deteriorated. We recommend you open ink cartridge just before you install it. A
warning message will be displayed about 6 months after ink cartridge is installed (if
the timer is properly reset when the cartridge is installed.)

Number of printable
characters
(about 3.5 million) A warning message will be displayed when about 3.5 million characters are printed
in total. Then replace the ink cartridge. The number of printable characters can be
reduced depending on the character size, print condition and environment.

Storage condition In order to prevent deterioration of ink cartridge quality, store unused cartridges in
a package at the temperature from -10 to 43C° and at the relative humidity from 8
to 90

. If ink cartridge is already installed, do not remove it and keep it as is. If ink
cartridge is not used for a long time, see " 4.5.6 Storage of Ink Cartridge " and store
if accordingly.

Supplier In order to maintain good quality of printout, you need to purchase ink cartridges
that is properly managed.

Note for replacement
work Be careful when you replace ink cartridge because your hands or clothes may get
dirty with spilled ink. For details, see "
4.5.4 Replacement of Ink Cartridge ".

Bundled cartridges Since the ink cartridge bundled with the DS 1210 equipped the imprinter(option) is
used for only printer check purpose at the device installation, the specifications of
ink cartridge described in documentations provided by ibml for the DS 1210 shall
not applied to them.
