Adding
or
modifying
AlphaServer
fibre-channel
connections
for
the
OpenVMS
host
To
create,
remove,
or
modify
the
AlphaServer
connections,
use
the
IBM
TotalStorage
DS
Storage
Manager.
When
you
create
a
connection,
it
is
necessary
to
specify
the
worldwide
port
name
of
the
host
connection.

worldwide
port
name
(WWPN),”
on
page
211
for
procedures
on
how
to
locate
the
WWPN.
Defining
OpenVMS
fibre-channel
adapters
to
the
storage
unit
This
section
lists
the
steps
you
must
perform
to
define
OpenVMS
fibre-channel
adapters
to
the
storage
unit.
You
must
create
a
storage
complex
before
defining
each
host
adapter
to
the
storage
unit.
Use
the
IBM
TotalStorage
DS
Storage
Manager
to
create
a
storage
complex.
You
can
use
the
following
menu
path:
click
Real-time
manager
,
click
Manage
hardware
,
click
Storage
complexes
.
To
define
each
host
adapter
to
the
storage
unit,
perform
the
following
steps
using
the
IBM
TotalStorage
DS
Storage
Manager.
Note:
These
instructions
assume
that
you
are
familiar
with
the
IBM
TotalStorage
DS
Storage
Manager.
1.
Logon
to
the
IBM
TotalStorage
DS
Storage
Manager
and
click
Real-time
manager
,
click
Manage
hardware
,
click
Host
systems
.
2.
From
the
Select
action
box
,
click
Create
,
then
click
Go
.
3.
From
the
General
host
information
screen,
complete
the
following
fields
for
each
fibre-channel
host
adapter.
When
finished,
click
OK
