Touch the static-protective package containing the adapter to any unpainted
metal surface in the computer, then remove the adapter from the package.

Install the adapter into the appropriate slot on the riser card. If a component
in the computer or on the adapter interferes with the installation, use another
slot.

Go to the device-record form in Using Your Personal Computer and write the
adapter name next to the slot into which you installed it.
