Powering On and Off

When the self-diagnosis ends:

Connected to an AS/400 system:

Depending on the initialization, one if the following messages is dis-
played:

NOT READY

READY

If NOT READY is shown, continue to step 3.

Connected to a PC:

The following message is displayed; printing is enabled.

READY

If NOT READY is displayed, press Start. The start light turns on. READY is
displayed in the LCD and printing is enabled.

Notes:

1. After powering on the printer, check the form position before printing.
2. If the Check lamp lights on or a message other than the above is displayed,

see Chapter 3, “Problem Determination Procedure.”

3. Connected to an AS/400 system: Start is not set to the ready status if the

printer is not connected to host system.
