2.1.4 Printer Mechanism (Right View)
Print Position Scale
Use this scale when adjusting the horizontal position of forms. The first
character is printed at 1 on the scale. For details on adjustment, see 2.9.3,
“Adjusting the Horizontal Position” on page 2-50.
Scale Cover
If this cover is open, the printer errors error status.
Ribbon Release Lever
Used when replacing the ribbon cassette. Push this back to release the
ribbon cassette.
Line Counter
Counts the number of printed lines. If the vertical character size is 24 dots,
this counter is incremented by 1 in 100 line units.
Platen Open Lever
To set the form or replace the ribbon, release the platen by pushing the lever
backward. To lock and close the platen, pull the lever forward.
Note: Pressing the lever backward places the platen in the release status.
To place the platen in all release status, press the lever backward
while pressing it rightward. Set the all release status only when
removing form jam or when Otherwise, do not place the platen in all
release status.
Horizontal Fine Adjustment Knob
Used to fine adjust the form leftward and rightward. The range of adjust-
ment is about 5 mm.
Form Thickness Adjustment Lever
Used to set the clearance between the print head and the platen according
to the thickness of the form.
Adjust this lever according to form thickness. For details, see 2.9.1,
“Adjusting the Print Pressure” on page 2-47.
