Log to File
The Software version Pro and Net have a data logger function for writing overall values from one or
more instruments to file.
Select one or more (only in Net) instruments and click “start Logger”. You will be prompted to enter a
file name and logging starts after you have completed the enty.
The contents of the logfile is simmilar to the files written from the Live window. If you have selected
more then one instrument, the table will have additionnal colons for the values. Refer to the
descrepion above for more details of the file format.
The advantage of the Log to file function against writing from the Live window is that you can use it
beside the other functions of the software. You can minimize the logger window and work with the
other functions of the software without interrupting the logger. The only exceptions are Life FFT and
orbit. During the collection of the time waveworms for FFT and orbit, the instrument can not answer
the logger’
s request for data.
Reviewing and detailed inspection of files created by the logger is usualy done using Microsoft Excel
or other 3
rd
party software.
Alternatively you can use the function “View Live File” for reviewing and working with the zoom and
cursor options.
