WARNING
• Installa tion and service must be perf ormed by a qualified installer (f or example,
a licensed plumber or gas fitt er). Otherwise, the warranty will be v oid.
• The installer (licensed pr o f essional) is r esponsible f or the c or rect installa tion of
the boiler and f or c ompliance with all na tional, state / pr o vincial, and lo cal
c odes.
• The manufacturer does not rec ommend installing the boiler in a pit or
lo ca tion where gas and water can accumulate.
• Do not have the vent terminal poin ting toward any opera ting window, door, or
opening into a building.
• Do not install next to any source of airborne debris, such as a clothes dryer, that
can cause debris to be trapped inside the combus tion chamber, unless the system
is direct-vent ed.
• The manufacturer does not suggest installing the boiler in an a ttic due t o
safety issues . If you install the water heater in an a ttic:
• Make sure the unit will have enough combus tion air and proper ven til a tion.
• Keep the area around the boiler and its termina tion clean. When dust
collects on the flame sensor, the water heater will shut down and produce an
error c ode.
• Place the unit for easy access for service and maint enance.
• A drain pan, or other means of prot ection a g ainst water dama g e, is
recommended to be installed under the boiler in case of leak s. The
manufacturer is not responsible for dama g e due to water leak s.
CAUTION
• The warranty will not c o ver damage caused by water quality.
• Only potable water can be used with this boiler . Do not introduce pool
or spa water, or any chemically treated water into the boiler .
• Water hardness levels must not exceed 7 g rains per g allon (120 ppm) for
single family domes tic applica tions or more than 4 g rains per g allon (70 ppm)
for all other types of applica tions. Water hardness leads to scale forma tion
and may a ff ect / dama g e the boiler . Hard water sc aling must be
avoided or controlled by proper water treatmen t.
• Water pH levels must be between 6.5 and 8.5
• Well water must be treat ed.
• Do not install the unit where water, debris, or flammable vapors may g et into the
flue t erminal.
• The manufacturer rec ommends direct ven ting when the boiler is installed
in beauty salons, dry cleaners or any other lo ca tions in which such chemicals
are present in the air . Some chemicals used in beauty salons or dry cleaners may
a ff ect the flame sensor . In such cases, the boiler may not work properly .
• Although the boiler is designed to operate with minimal sound,
the
manufacturer does not rec ommend installing the unit on a wall adjacent t o a
bedr oom, or a r oom that is intended f or quiet study or medita tion, etc .
• Locate your boiler close to a drain where water leaka g e will not do dama g e to
surr ounding ar eas. As with any water hea ting appliance, the poten tial for leaka g e
at some time in the life of the product does exis t. The manufacturer will not be
responsible for any water dama g e that may occur . If you install a drain pan under
the unit, ensure that it will not restrict the combus tion air fl ow .
