Manual CST tests
13.13 Test Error LED on
To activate the Error LED, press the Error LED on
button in CST and then the two LEDs inside the
Error symbol should come on (red triangle). If they
do not light up, troubleshoot the cables to see if
there is a fault there. From CCU connector A:6, a
voltage signal is sent via Cable 2 to the connector
under the control panel where it is connected to
pin 7. If the LEDs in the Error symbol do not light
up, unplug the connector under the control panel
and take a reading on pin 7 in the connector
coming from Cable 2 with a multimeter set to
measure volts while activating the output via the
computer. Around 11 V on pin 7 should then be
seen if the cable is OK. If coupling the connector
to the control panel and it does not light up the
LEDs in the the Error symbol even though voltage
in the connector has been checked without the
control panel being connected, it will be necessary
to change the control panel for a new one, repair
is not possible. 11 V is not obtained if measured
when the connector is coupled together as this is
an unloaded voltage.
13.14 Battery LEDs
This test lights the LEDs on the control panel that
indicate battery status to see whether they are in
working order. Clicking the button ("Turns LEDs
OFF) in the test will turn off all
LEDs.
13.15 Battery 100 % LED on
To activate 100 % LED, press the Battery 100 %
LED button on in the test and then the LED for
100 % in the battery symbol will light up (rectangle
at top of battery scale).
If it does not light up, check the cables to see if
there is a fault there. From CCU connector A:7, a
voltage signal is sent via Cable 2 to the connector
under the control panel where it is connected to
pin 2. If the LED in the 100 % symbol does not
light up, unplug the connector under the control
panel and take a reading on pin 2 in the connector
coming from Cable 2 with a multimeter set to
measure volts while activating the output via the
computer. Around 11 V on pin 2 should then be
seen if the cable is OK. If coupling the connector to
the control panel and it does not light up the LED
for 100 % even though voltage in the connector
has been checked without the control panel being
connected, it will be necessary to change the
control panel for a new one. If more LEDs than
the battery symbol come on or any in a button,
or in the triangle, it may be due to conduction in
the cable between the leads. When testing these
LEDs, only one LED at a time should be activated
so that it can clearly be seen if several light up. If
several light up at the same time, take a reading
on all pins in the connector under the control
panel to see that there is no voltage on multiple
pins going to the LEDs. Pins 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
and 10 are to LEDs so if only one LED at a time
is activated, there should not be a voltage on any
other the other pins leading to the LEDs. Pin 1 is
GND and pin 9 is +5 V, pins 11 and 12 are buttons
on the control panel (switches). Conclude the test
by turning off 100 % LED.
