10.1 Explanations for the Configuration Menu
“Commission Number on” means that the commission number will have
to be entered or confirmed before every new welding, “off” that it
can be confirmed.
“Welder Code on” means that the welder identification code has to be
entered before every welding, “off,” that this is impossible.
“Additional Data on” means that the additional data have to be entered or
confirmed before every welding, “off,” that they can but need not.
“Memory Control on” means that when the system memory is full of re-
ports, the unit will be blocked until the reports are printed off, “off,”
means that it works but that the oldest report will be overwritten.
“Manual Input on” means that it is possible to enter welding parameters
manually, “off,” that this is impossible.
“Select Weather on” means that weather conditions have to be entered
before every welding, “off,” that this is not the case.
“ISO Data on” means that entering the second fitting code and the first
and second pipe codes is possible, “off,” that it is impossible.
Note:
ISO Mode allows quality and traceability management according to
the ISO 12176-4 standard, applying the extended bar code symbol-
ogy defined therein. This means that the user will be guided through
the data input screens for the following bar code elements:
• Welder/User Code
• Job/Commission Number
• Fitting Welding Code
• Fitting Traceability Code (Second Fitting Code)
• First Pipe Code
• Second Pipe Code
A precondition is that the fittings and components are actually
equipped with these bar code elements.
“Print Additional Data on” means that the additional data saved in the
welding report in system memory will also be printed, “off,” that they
won’t be printed (this holds only for printing on paper; if data are
transferred to a USB stick or a PC, all data in the reports, including
additional data, will be transferred).
“Installing Company on” means that the name of the company that installs
the pipeline will have to be entered or confirmed before every new
welding, “off,” that this is impossible.
“Geo Data on” means that the data on the geographic position of the
joint will have to be entered or confirmed before every new welding,
“off,” that they can but need not.
“Set Clock M ” means that by pressing the MENU key, the user can
access a sub-menu for setting the clock.
“Select Language M ” means that by pressing the MENU key, the
user can access a sub-menu for selecting the display and print
language.
“Adjust Volume M ” means that by pressing the MENU key, the user can
access a sub-menu for setting the volume of the buzzer.
“Inventory No. M ” means that by pressing the MENU key, the user
can access a sub-menu for entering the unit-specific inventory
number.
10.2 Setting the Clock
When the “Set Clock” sub-menu was selected, the screen changes to
