Probe Decontamination Procedure
1. Turn the monitor off.
2. Unplug the latching probe connector from the monitor.
3. Remove the probe from the probe well.
4. Remove the probe well from the monitor.
5. Clean the probe and the inner and outer surface of the probe well by swabbing
with a cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a 10% solution of chlorine
bleach.
Note: Do not immerse or soak the probe in any type of fl uid.
Note: Do not autoclave the probe or probe well.
Note: Do not use steam, heat, or gas sterilisation of the probe or probe well.
Note: Do not use hard or sharp objects to clean the probe well. These can damage
the probe well, which could cause the unit to fail.
6. Thoroughly dry all surfaces before reassembling the instrument.
7. Re-install the probe well into the monitor.
8. Insert the probe into the probe well.
9. Reconnect the probe latching connector to the monitor, making sure that the
connector snaps into place.
