3.9 Measuring Temperature with RTDs
The EDEKA TC-200 Multi-function process calibrator accepts RTD types shown in
Table5- 2. RTDs are characterized by their resistance at 0°C, which is called the “ice
point” or R
0
. The most common R
0
is 100Ω. The EDEKA TC-200 Multi-function process
calibrator accepts RTD measurement input in 2-, 3-, or 4-wire connections, with the
3-wire connection the most common. Change the unit of temperature according to ‘8
Switching Temperature Unit’.
To measure temperature using an RTD input, proceed as follows:

until the lower display shows “MEASURE”.

to select the desired RTD type.
(3)
Press
to select a 2-, 3-, or 4-wire mode. Connect the test leads as shown in
Figure5- 9.
CAUTION: Clear of RTD before measuring, according to ‘8.4 Clear of Resistance and RTD’.
