5.4.4 Configuring QoS Parameters
You can configure the priorities of the media and signaling streams based on the network
condition to ensure data quality.
Background
Quality of service (QoS) is a network security mechanism for resolving network issues such
as delay and congestion. When the network is overloaded or congested, QoS ensures that the
packets of important services are not delayed or discarded, and therefore ensures data
transmission quality.
Procedure
Step 1
Choose
Settings
>
Network Configuration
>
QoS Parameters
.
The
QoS Parameters
page is displayed, as shown in
Figure 5-21

Step 2
Set
Media stream DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point)
and
Signaling stream
DSCP
.
Media stream
: media transferred and played over the network in streaming mode, such
as audio, video, and multimedia files.
Signaling stream
: signaling and control information, such as registration and live
browsing requests.
The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 63. A larger value means a higher priority.
Step 3

5.4.5 Configuring Stream Smoothing Parameters
You can set the stream smoothing parameters to restrict the rate for sending data to keep
stable network bandwidth occupation and ensure the stability and reliability of data stream
transfer.
