MtcScsiP and MtcScsiR Messages

IOPn.MtcScsiP status: Device DISKn will be faulted because it is taking too long to complete SCSI requests. The IOP

must be rebooted before the disk can be enabled.

Variables

n – the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2

Severity

Error

Description

A disk has not completed pending SCSI requests in an appropriate time period. This typically

occurs as a disk begins to fail. However, it is also possible that incorrect SCSI termination

settings or bad SCSI cabling are to blame.

Action

•

Reboot the IOP and check the SCSI termination settings, the SCSI cable integrity, and the
SCSI cable connections.

•

If these items all appear to be correct, consider replacing the disk.

IOPn.MtcScsiP status: DEVICEn has a SCSI adapter number different than configured on the other IOP, and it will be

marked offline.
