SET POWER MODE
•
Command:
SET POWER MODE {NOTREDUNDANT | REDUNDANT | POWERSUPPLY}
•
Description:
Configures power settings to ensure a specified level of redundancy.
◦
◦
The
NOTREDUNDANT
setting includes all healthy power supplies in the enclosure power
capacity. The loss of even a single power supply might result in oversubscription.
CAUTION: HP does not recommend the
NOTREDUNDANT
setting for production systems.
◦
The
POWERSUPPLY
setting enables one lower (1–6) and one upper (7–12) power supply
to fail without being over committed on power.
◦
The
REDUNDANT
setting enables all power supplies on one side of the compute enclosure
to fail without being over committed on power. For example, this would enable power
supplies 1–3 and 7–9 to fail (or 4–6 and 10–12) while the remaining power supplies
still function.
•
Power mode is established at the complex level and is managed from the Monarch OA. A
change in Dynamic Power Savings mode is propagated to all OAs in the complex.

SET POWER LIMIT

Command:
SET POWER LIMIT {<number> | OFF}
•
Description:
Sets or removes a limit on how much input power can be consumed by the enclosure. This
setting is useful when the enclosure receives power from a PDU with a limited power rating.

SET POWER SAVINGS
•
Command:
SET POWER SAVINGS {ON | OFF}
•
Description:
Turns power savings mode on or off. Power savings mode turns unneeded power supplies
off.

The increased load on the remaining power supplies increases efficiency, resulting in less
power consumption.
