Motor Testing
It is possible to test the separate parts on the motor via the wiring which connects onto
the module. All the relevant connection points are numbered as shown in the ‘component
wiring connection’ page.
To Test the Armature:
Set your Multi-meter to ohms
Ω
and connect one probe into terminal 9 on the module
connector block, the other probe should go into terminal 8. Press the button and you
should get a reading of about 1.5
Ω
.This reading is very much dependant on the condition
of the motor brushes (Brand new brushes that have not been worn in will give a far
higher reading, Possibly up to 3
Ω
. If this is the case you can recheck the armature direct,
by placing a probe from your meter either side and touching the commutators at the same
points where the brushes touch. This test will give a more accurate reading.

Only terminals 10-4 are for the motor
If there is no reading it could mean the brushes need replacing or there is a break in one
of the wires or the armature is faulty.
