Overheating/Boiling
The heater is fitted with a thermistor as an integral part of its make up. It also has a
built in thermal cut out just in case it over heats, this cut out is not re-settable and if
it goes the heater will not work and must be replaced. The thermistor registers the
water temperature and transmits the information to the control module, which in
turn switches the heater on or off via a heater relay.
If for any reason the heater does not work the control will advance on to the next
part of the programme, without giving any warning the heater is faulty. You may
get poor wash results.
If one of the thermistor wires breaks the water will just continue to heat.
When a 95º programme is used continuously the internal cut out will blow and
the heater will not work.
If the internal filament blows it could cause the heater to short circuit and blow
the module.
If the heater comes on without water in the drum it would cause smoke to come
out of the dispenser draw.
