(14) Motor…….
Removal
1.
To gain access to the motor you must first remove the lower back panel on the
cabinet.
2.
The belt should be removed before you attempt to remove the motor, by gently
pulling it towards you as you turn the pulley and it will come off easily.
3.
Disconnect all the wiring harnesses from the container by cutting the cable ties that
hold them, and pull the plug attachment out of the motor.
4.
The earth wire may be connected separately; this also must be disconnected.
5.
Remove the two nuts and bolts holding the motor in place and grip the motor firmly
while easing it away from you.
6.
Be careful at this point because it is heavier than it looks and if you are not prepared,
could quite easily fall and squash your fingers. (Many engineers will testify to this).
7.
The plastic cover over the motor is a water shield and must be replaced with the
motor.

Fitting
1.
The water shield is the first thing to go back on the motor prior to refitting. This item
is for your own safety and should not be omitted on reassembly.
2.
There is a flexible motor mount (a type of bush) that fits onto the left arm of the
motor (looking at it facing the pulley).
3.
The motor has to be located onto spigots moulded onto the container, and held in
place by nuts and bolts.
4.
The wiring plug can now be fitted as well as the earth wire.
5.
Use cable ties and fix all the loose hanging wires to the container, because loose wires
mean they are prone to rubbing and that will cause another problem later on.
6.
There is no adjustment on this motor, so the belt has to be turned onto the drum
pulley.
7.
Hook it first onto the motor pulley, then on to the main pulley as far as possible.
8.
Hold it there by fixing a cable tie around it and the pulley.
9.
Turn the inner drum counter clockwise, this will pull the belt onto the main pulley
and snap the cable tie as it rotates.
10.
Replace lower back panel.
