Depth setting

The drilling depth is determined by the depth

setting and the coulter pressure on the coulters.

The drilling depth is adjusted mechanically via

two racks.

1

2

¾

Secure the tractor against rolling away, secure

the control units.

¾

Lower the seed bar until it rests on the ground.

If necessary, vary the height of the seed bar

slightly to facilitate adjustment.

¾

Remove the bolts on both sides (1).

¾

Adjust the height of the seed bar on the racks

using the box spanner (size 24) supplied (2).

Adjust both racks to the same height. Adjust

the height so that the bolts can be inserted.

¾

Insert the bolts at the rows of holes and secure

them with cotter pins.

NOTE

¾

The settings of drilling depth and coulter

pressure affect each other. Check the coulter

pressure in the field after each change of the

placement depth.

¾

Adapt the adjustment to the soil conditions,

the working speed, harvest residues and the

loosening work of the coulter discs.

It can only be determined in the field in work

-

ing position.

¾

With each change, the drilling depth and the

effect of the press rollers on consolidation and

depth guidance must be checked.

¾

Check the drilling depth when starting work

and regularly during use.

Coulter pressure adjustment

When lowering the machine the coulters are

pressed into the soil, until the press rollers take

over the depth guidance.

The rubbers on the guide are thereby tensioned

and the required coulter pressure is generated.

The harder the soil and the deeper the seed is

to be placed, the higher the required pressure.

Adjust the coulter pressure so that the set drilling

depth is reached and the coulters run quietly

during field work.

Excessive coulter pressure will adversely affect

the placement accuracy of the seed and increas-

es the wear on the coulters.
