Networking on Ethernet

Installing an 10/100BaseT Network PCMCIA Card

HRDV software supports interface to digital networks via 100BaseT and 
10BaseT for remote access.

Note

To activate an Ethernet or PC Card, do the following in the exact order 

given to avoid the HRDV16/8 failing to operate:

1. Set the Method field to the correct card type, IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) or PC 

Card.

2. Accept this change.

3. Power down the HRDV unit.

4. Insert the same card type that you programmed in the Method field.

5. Power up the HRDV unit.

If problems occur:

1. Power down the HRDV unit.

2. Remove the card.

3. Power up the unit.

Setting Bandwidth Throttle on the HRDV8/16

When the HRDV is connected to a PC using a network connection, video and audio traffic 
is transmitted over the LAN (Local Area Network). You can control the amount of bandwidth 
traffic that is used over the LAN by setting the bandwidth throttle on the HRDV User 
Preferences screen. The default setting is 250 KBps (the maximum).

To set a bandwidth throttle:
