Interior: Remove the reagent containers. Wipe the stainless-steel platform with a regular cleaner and
then wipe with water to remove the residue of the cleaner.
Transport arm mechanism: Wipe down with a slightly moistened cloth.
Outside surfaces: Clean the painted outside surface with a mild detergent and subsequently wipe
down with a moistened cloth. Do not use any solvents for cleaning the outside surfaces
Keypad and the Display Window: Use a commercial screen cleaner, glass cleaner or alcohol for
cleaning the keypad and the display window. DO NOT USE Xylene, Xylene Substitutes, Acetone or
other harsh chemicals on the keypad or the display window.
Reagent containers: Clean reagent containers using a standard laboratory detergent, rinse multiple
times with water, followed by distilled water, then dry thoroughly. A dishwasher may be used if the
maximum water temperature is no higher than 65°C (149°F).
Slide racks: Clean with household or laboratory cleaners, as needed.
Charcoal Filter Replacement (Once every 6 months, or as needed)
The charcoal filter is located in the back of the unit as shown in Figure 8-3. Lift the old filter to
remove it and drop in a new one to replace the old one. Be sure to orient the filter so that the air flow
is from the stainer side through to the outside.
Changing the Fuses (as needed)
The fuses are located in the power entry module, refer to Figure 8-3. To change the user accessible
fuses, turn off and unplug the stainer from the power source. Remove the power cord from the
connector located at the power entry module. Using a flat bladed screwdriver, gently pry off the
cover to the fuse holder.
Pull the fuses out, noting the orientation for the replacement fuses. Remove and discard the fuses
(they may go in regular laboratory trash). Replace with the new fuses and insert into the fuse holder.
Snap the fuse holder cover back on and reconnect the power cord to the power entry module.
Plug the stainer in and turn it on. Confirm that the instrument powers up and the keypad display
transitions to the standby mode screen. Contact Technical Support if the stainer does not work.
