TITLE

HYDRAULIC PUMP TEST

WARNING: Always retract wings fully,
lower the plow to the ground and re-
lieve pressure before removing any

fittings, hoses or caps. Allow the system to

cool  down  before  draining  oil  or  handling
system  components.  Serious  burns  can  re-
sult  from  contact  with  hot  oil.  FAILURE  TO
HEED CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.

TEST CONDITIONS

WARNING: Vehicle engine must be
running for this procedure. Make sure
that there is adequate ventilation in

test area and/or that vehicle exhaust is vent-
ed outside of test area building. FAILURE TO
HEED CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.

WARNING: Always retract wings fully,
lower the plow to the ground and re-

lieve pressure before removing any fit

tings, hoses or caps. FAILURE TO HEED CAN
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

- Vehicle battery is fully charged.

- Hydraulic oil level is to “Fill Line.”

PHOTO NO. 4130

Remove the hydraulic fitting located on the front-

side of the valve block. Port is marked “L.”

Using the proper fittings, install 0-3000

PSI hy-

draulic pressure gauge. See photo 4130.

Turn ignition switch On and activate and hold the
Raise switch on joystick control box. The gauge
should be indicating 2250 PSI +/- 100.

If gauge indicates less than 2250 +/- 100, test
the following before replacing the pump:

- Ensure S4 Solenoid Valve

IS NOT energized

when Raise switch is activated with test light
or voltmeter.

- Ensure S3 Solenoid Valve IS energized when

Raise switch is activated.

- Ensure S3 Solenoid Valve is not stuck closed.

Replacement,” page 20-21.

- Ensure S4 Solenoid Valve is not stuck open.

See “Solenoid Valve Removal, Cleaning and
Replacement,” page 20-21.

- Ensure System Relief Valve pressure setting

is correct. See page 29-30.

- Test DC Motor amperage draw. See page 33-

34.

- Replace pump if necessary. See “Hydraulic
