TITLE

Solenoid Valve Test 35

SOLENOID VALVE TEST

WARNING: This procedure requires
the plow to be operated. Stand clear
of plow during operation. FAILURE TO

HEED THIS WARNING CAN RESULT IN SERI-
OUS PERSONAL INJURY.

WARNING: Always retract wings fully,
lower the plow to the ground and re-
lieve pressure before removing any

fittings, hoses or caps. Allow the system to

cool  down  before  draining  oil  or  handling
system  components.  Serious  burns  can  re-
sult  from  contact  with  hot  oil.  FAILURE  TO
HEED CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.

NOTE:

There are three possible failures that

cause the solenoid valve not to operate. They
are:

Joystick Controller

, or associated wiring,

Solenoid Coil or Cartridge Valve.

TEST PROCEDURE

1. Hold the metal end of a screwdriver about

1/8” from the coil nut being tested.

2. Activate the solenoid valve being tested.

The metal end of the screwdriver should be
pulled to the coil nut when solenoid valve is
activated.

3. If not, use a voltmeter to test for battery volt-

age at the coil terminal when solenoid valve
is activated.

4. If battery voltage is present, replace the so

lenoid coil. P/N 25011667.

5. If no voltage is indicated, check wiring, joy

stick controller, and grounds, repair or re-
place as necessary.

6. If above tests are satisfactory, remove, in-

spect and clean cartridge valve. See page
20.
