 Using the Manual

Read this manual before using or maintaining the equipment. Completely familiarize yourself with all

components and how they are used. Please refer to the drawing of the strand jack at the end of this

manual.

[Ref.]

Locate this manual in a place for quick reference during both use and maintenance.

4.3

 Installation

The motor is designed for either a 240V 3PH or 480V 3PH power input. Have a qualified electrician

connect the motor to an appropriate power supply.

MAINTENANCE

Before and after every use, inspect the entire system (including but not limited to hoses, valves, and

fittings). Replace or repair components as needed.
Before and after every use, inspect the jacking sleeve.

[Ref: Illustration 1, item 3.]

Before and after every use, inspect the jam nut to ensure that it is tight.

[Ref: Illustration 1, item 19.]

5.1

 Daily Maintenance

[1.]

Clean concrete buildup from all components.

[2.]

Inspect the entire system for wear or damage, replacing or repairing if necessary. Wipe off hoses

and inspect them for cuts, wear, kinks, leaks, and worn or damaged fittings. Inspect valves.

[3.]

Inspect cylinder mounting bolts to ensure they are tight.

WARNING

Never use damaged parts without consulting Hamilton Form concerning safety. If there is any doubt,

do not use it!

WARNING

Make sure that the motor is wired to rotate counterclockwise when viewed from the shaft end of

the motor.

WARNING

Always cover the ends of quick-disconnects with the supplied plugs and caps when uncoupled.

Failure to do so could contaminate the hydraulic system.

If the cylinder stops moving due to a blockage in the flow system (hydraulic lock), do not attempt to

relieve the hydraulic pressure by disconnecting hydraulic hoses or fittings. Removing the blockage

could cause the cylinder to suddenly move.
