1. Click
Start/Settings/Control Panel
. Double-
click
Network and Dial-Up Connections
.
2. Right-click the appropriate connection and
select
Properties
.
3. In the
General
tab, highlight
Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)
.
4. Click
Properties
and select
Obtain an IP
address automatically
and
Obtain DNS
server address automatically
.
5. Click
OK
to close the windows, then exit the
Control Panel
.
The router will now be able to assign an IP
address to your computer.
An
IP address
is a unique address assigned by
the router to the computer. Each computer has its
own identity, via its IP address, allowing it to be
identified within the network.
