3.4.4.Step 4: Selecting security for your WiFi network
- Choose whether to select
Automatic
or
Manual
security for your WiFi network.
In WiFi Manager N, you must not select a higher level of security than that supported by your
computers or other WiFi devices. For example, if your computers or other devices only support the
MEDIUM
level
(
WEP 128
)
, you should not select the
HIGH (
WPA-PSK
)
or
VERY HIGH (WPA2)
levels.
If you wish to automatically define security for your WiFi network:
- Click the
Automatic
button.
Your network will be automatically protected via a
WPA2-WPA2
key (TKIP and AES).
- Click
Next
.
On the page displayed, you can view a summary
of your WiFi connection. Make a note of the
network name, security type and key used.
- Click
Close
to exit the Assistant and return to the
home page.
Your settings are immediately saved and applied.
If you wish to manually define security for your WiFi network:
- Click the
Manual
button.
- Read the text explaining the concept of security.
- Select your level of security:
MEDIUM
(WEP 128),
HIGH
(WPA),
VERY HIGH
(WPA2)
or
None (no security)
.
- Click
Next
