Problem Cause Correction
Faulty drain
switch. Check drain switch per 7.21
Drain Pan Switch
, page 73 .
Faulty PC board. Check control panel per 7.4.1 Control Panel Replace-
ment , page 36 and replace as needed.
High limit control
tripped. Allow heating elements to cool down (15-20 minutes), re-
set the high limit by pressing down and releasing the
raised side of the reset switch for the vat that is not operat-
ing. if high limit does not reset, replace control.
Drain valve open. Close drain valve.
Possible faulty
temperature
probe. Replace temperature probe.
Faulty contactor. Check contactor per 7.12

Breaker on fryer
tripped. Check breakers on fryer per 7.7 Breakers , page 43 .
Oil heating
too slow. Low or improper
voltage. Use a meter and check the receptacle against data plate.
Weak or burnt
out element(s). Check heating element(s) per 7.6 Electric Heating Ele-
ments , page 39 .
Points in contac-
tor bad. Check contactor per 7.12 Contactors , page 54 .
Wire(s) loose. Tighten wire(s).
Burnt or charred
wire connection. Replace wire and clean connectors.
Oil over-
heating. Programming
wrong. Check temperature setting in the program mode.
Faulty PC board. Replace control board if heat indicator stays on past ready
temperature.
Faulty tempera-
ture probe. Check probe calibration and replace if temperature probe
is off ± 5°.
Check contactor
for not opening. Check faulty contactor per 7.12 Contactors , page 54 .
Oil foaming
or boiling
over top of
vat. Water in oil. At end of cook cycle, drain and clean vat, add fresh oil.
Improper or bad
oil. Use recommended oil.
Improper filtering. Refer to filtering procedures in Operator’s Manual.
