5.
Erect the other two posts with the same method and position the four posts in the desired
location
6.
Before installing the main runway (with cylinder), extend the cylinder out and lay cables
ready for assembly. A ratchet strap is useful in this step.
The HAPP 25 has additional strengthen braces under the runway which makes installation of
the safety release rods more difficult. This extra difficulty is reduced by installing the rods at
this point and verifying you have access to the connectors that join the rods together. Later on
you will connect the end rods to together and configure the safety release mechanism.
The two ends of the rod are threaded together with the threaded rod and lock nut as
shown in the diagram below.
7.
Place the two runways onto the end frames. Typically installing the slave runway (the runway
without the cylinder) is easiest as it has less weight to maneuver making the alignment with
end frames easier. Fix the runway to the end frame with locating bolts without tightening to
maintain stability of the hoist. Make sure the head of the bolts is on the inside of the runway.
(if the thread is place on the inside they may fit cables when they are installed. Remember to
ensure the base of the cylinder is next to the column with the pump assembly. A fork lift is
preferred for this step although a number of people can perform this operation if lifting
precautions are followed.
