7.1.2 Animal menu:
The animal's details can be viewed and modified in the Animal menu.
Number
Unique animal identifier used in the system. If the number entered here is already assigned to another
animal, the error "
Number must be unique
" will be displayed.
Name
Animal

Transponder
Animal's tag ID (max. 15 characters)
If the tag ID entered here is already assigned to another animal, the error "
Transponder ID must be unique
will be displayed.
Group
The group the animal is assigned to.
Lactation number
A cow's number of lactations.
The total feed intake is reset with this button, for explanation see chapter 7.1.2.2.
Feeding method
Feeding method: group curve or individual rations.
Ref. datum
Date field which can be used for date of calving or expected beginning of dry period. If a date has been set
here, the system will display the number of days remaining (negative value) or the number of days passed
(positive value).
Note: This date must be entered under group feeding.
Selections:
Limit today
’
s ration
This limits today's ration to the remaining percentage of the day. Use this option to prevent
new or freshly calved animals from receiving a full day's ration the rest of the day. The
amount already fed today is always deducted from the new ration. This box is automatically
unchecked the next day.
