If the joists/beams are not higher than 0.2 m, they are not
relevant and are to be viewed as part of the ceiling. The
smoke alarm can be installed on a ceiling panel or directly
on the joist/beam.

Note
•
Ensure that the smoke alarm(s) is/are installed in the
centre of the respective area (entire ceiling / ceiling
panel) where possible.
•
Also note that a smoke alarm is necessary for each
area of up to 60 m².
4.4 Mounting the base plate
•
Hold the base plate of the smoke alarm in the installation
location – the two mounting holes can be used to mark
the position of the drill holes.
Warning
Before you drill holes and install the smoke alarm, make
sure that there are no electric, water, gas or other lines
in the area of the installation location.
•
With a wooden ceiling or beams, drill approx. 20 mm
deep using a 2.5 mm drill bit. Use the supplied screws
without anchors.
•
For cement or brick, use a bit with max. 5 mm diameter
(measure the supplied anchors before) and drill approx.
25-30 mm deep so that the anchors can be inserted.
•
Insert the anchors (for cement or brick).
•
Attach the base plate of the smoke alarm using the
supplied screws.

5.Getting started
5.1 Activation
Note
You have to activate the smoke alarm before use.
•
To activate the smoke alarm, pull the red battery pin out
of the housing. The smoke alarm is deactivated as long
as the battery pin remains inside the housing.
• Then check
correct functioning by pressing and holding
the
TEST
button. A signal tone should sound within one
second.
