Operating instruction
Thank you for choosing a Hama product.
Take your time and read the following instructions and
information completely. Please keep these instructions in a
safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, please
pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.
1. Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes
Warning
This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to
draw your attention to specific hazards and risks.

3. Safety Notes
•
Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of
heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
•
Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any
major shocks.
•
Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it
becomes damaged.
•
To ensure the device functions correctly, follow the
mounting and installation information given in these
operating instructions.
•
The smoke alarm needs to be replaced if there is damage
of any kind.
•
Create an emergency escape plan (information can be
found in
6.1 Emergency escape plan (recommen-
dation)
).
•
Warning of possible damage to hearing! The smoke
alarm is very loud. Do not test the smoke alarm directly
next to your ear. Sound level of alarm signal: minimum
of 85 dB.
•
Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids
the warranty.
Warning
•
Carbon monoxide, flames, heat, gases, and so on,
cannot be detected by the smoke alarm.
•
Installing smoke alarms does not prevent fires; nor
can smoke alarms be used to extinguish them. Fur-
thermore, the protection of life and property cannot
be guaranteed, and the need to take out appropriate
insurance cannot be avoided.
Note
•
The battery is integrated and cannot be removed.
Dispose of the product as a whole unit in accordance
with legal regulations.
•
The smoke alarm does not contain radioactive material.
4. Installation
Note
We recommend that you have the smoke alarm installed
by an approved and qualified electrician (electrician for
smoke alarms). Observe and follow all local and national
electrical and building regulations for the installation.
4.1 General notes
•
For minimum protection, it is recommended that you install
a smoke alarm in every bedroom and children’s room, in
hallways that lead to these rooms, and in escape routes.

In buildings with multiple housing units, smoke alarms
should be installed in each housing unit separately, and
in the communal hallways and stairways.
