Using the fixed access ladder
Rules for using the ladder
The fixed access ladder on which a service lift is operated should only be climbed
in an emergency. The following safety rules apply:
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to collision with service lift when using the ladder
Do not use the ladder in the danger zone of the service lift. When climbing
the ladder, a safety distance of 30 m from the service lift must be
maintained if the service lift is travelling at the same time. This corresponds
to about 10 times the lift height.
When using the ladder, climbing persons and operators of the service lift
must coordinate with each other via suitable means of communication
(e.g., radio link).
Do not use the ladder when the service lift is being operated in automatic
mode.
